On February 23rd, we had our local launch of the Bogotá Bicycle Account 2014 at the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce. Participants included Lars Steen Nielsen, the Danish ambassador to Colombia, Maria Fernanda Rojas, a city council member, and Dr. Luis Fernando Gómez of the Universidad Javeriana. Event attendees learned about Denmark’s efforts to promote bicycles as a transport mode, the key findings of the Bicycle Account, and the opinions of the participating experts. The last part of the event was a short workshop to discuss with participants their perceptions of the study and how to improve it for 2015. We also discussed how to improve bicycle use in Bogotá, using the morning’s conversation as a basis.
